Excerpted From Ward 13 Councillor Sarah Doucette’s Community Newsletter – April 13, 2017:
At last week’s Community Council meeting we approved the community consultations for both the Minto (111 Pacific Ave) and Great West Life (35 High Park Ave) Development Applications. These meetings are an important opportunity to share with both City Planning and the proponents themselves your comments and concerns regarding these proposals. While I have received hundreds of emails from residents sharing their concerns, it is still important that these meetings be well attended.
The meeting for the Minto proposal will take place on Monday, May 8, while the Great West Life meeting will take place the following week on Thursday, May 18. Both meetings will take place at 7pm at Lithuania House (1573 Bloor Street West).
In addition to the Community Consultations, I also successfully moved a motion forward for a character study of the area. This will allow for the City to examine the High Park North neighbourhood as a whole, and not solely on the two individual applications. As this study gets underway I will let you know how you can be further involved!”
High Park Tenants Association supports Councillor Doucette’s request and recommends that all concerned tenants attend BOTH these meetings where they will finally have the opportunity to participate in the approval process and make known their views regarding these enormous and intrusive development proposals.
